In FY2022, the State Aid program distributed $13 million. For the second year in a row, 347 municipalities and their libraries were certified. All libraries were considered as meeting the hours open and materials expenditure requirements due to the suspension of the standards due to the ongoing pandemic.
The number of libraries receiving a Municipal Appropriation Requirement (MAR) waiver decreased from 52 in FY2021 to the 28 in FY2022.
Commissioners also voted to suspend the Hours Open Requirement of the State Aid program from December 20, 2021 through April 4, 2022. This was in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the current struggles related to the Omicron variant of the disease.
