State Aid Review: Approved Changes

Changes to Hours and Materials Go into Effect on July 1, 2017

Changes Approved by the Board

The following three recommendations from the State Aid Review Committee were approved by the Board of Library Commissioners at their March 3, 2016 meeting:

  1. Compliance Period for the Hours Open Requirement from the current Compliance Period of Labor Day to Memorial Day to any nine months in a fiscal year
  2. Materials Expenditure Requirement to include a percentage of technology for patron use
  3. Municipal Appropriation Requirement to remove municipally appropriated Revolving Funds from the MAR calculation and affected libraries' MAR readjusted

Each of these changes is subject to regulatory hearings and a comment period. Meeting dates were held in June and July 2016.

June 6 – Middleborough Public Library - 1:00-2:00pm

June 8 – CLAMS - 11:30am-12:30pm

June 9 – Rowley Public Library - 1:00-2:00pm

June 14 –MLS Marlborough - 1:00-2:00pm

June 15 – Rutland Public Library - 1:00-2:00pm

June 21 – Holyoke Public Library - 1:00-2:00pm

July 14 --12:00 - 1:00pm – MBLC Offices
