Planning for a Live Burn

If you are planning a live burn, work with your local fire department or state fire academy before planning the program. If this is to be a local program, contact your local fire department’s liaison (or public relations officer or Chief if you already have a relationship with them) to introduce the subject.  The liaison will then be able to help you make contact with the most appropriate person in the department to provide permission and help you plan the live burn.  Being able to give them details on what your desired outcome is, what you plan to burn, and how many participants you expect will help.
