Database Procurement FY23-28: Home

Database Procurement

The MBLC, in partnership with MLS, provides a number of online reference resources to libraries at a statewide level. The most recent procurement was completed in the spring of 2017, with a start date of July 1, 2017. When the state increased funding for library technology and resource sharing, several additional databases were added in January 2020. All contracts from this round of procurement will end on June 30, 2022.

We are currently in the process of procuring products to be available from July 1, 2022.

The state procurement process requires the MBLC to adhere to all applicable rules to ensure the process is fair and all vendors receive equal treatment. The companies responding to the bid were able to decide which of their products best met the requirements and subjects requested in the RFR and created their proposals accordingly. We can only consider products which were proposed in response; vendors who did not submit a response cannot be considered and neither can products which were not proposed by vendors who did respond.
